Portfolio View in Falcon

The portfolio view is a section in Falcon that allows you to see all the important information about your measures, packages, projects and programmes at a glance. The view provides an intuitive overview that can be customised. You can specify which information and columns should be displayed and in which order, and Falcon remembers your individual settings. This flexibility ensures that you always have the most important data in focus.

Navigating to the Portfolio View

You can navigate to the portfolio view by clicking at the bullet point list icon at the top left in the sidebar.

Show and hide available columns

Showing and hiding the columns in the portfolio view is crucial to maintaining clarity. To edit the columns, simply move the mouse over any column header and click on the drop-down menu that appears (1). Here you can select which data fields should be displayed (2). Falcon saves these customisations so that your preferred view is immediately available the next time you open it.

Arrangement by drag-and-drop

One of the most user-friendly functions of the portfolio view is the ability to change the order of the columns using drag-and-drop. To adjust the order, simply click on the column header and drag the column to the desired position. This intuitive method allows you to personalize the view quickly and easily so that the most important information is always at the front.

Filter within the columns

Similar to the column selection procedure, you can also apply various filters to the column contents themselves. To set filters, simply move the mouse over any column header and click on the drop-down menu that appears (1). Here you can select which filter you want to set (2). Depending on the column type, different filter options are available.

Sorting within the columns

You can not only arrange the data in the columns, but also sort it. This gives you a better overview. Simply click on the column title to sort the entries in ascending or descending order. This function is particularly useful if, for example, you want to sort measures according to their planned effect or their current status. By combining sorting and grouping, you can efficiently analyze complex data sets.

Grouping by column properties

A particularly helpful function of the portfolio view is the ability to group tables according to certain criteria. You can use the drop-down menu in the column header to group for example measures according to the respective phase. This grouping function makes it much easier to work in extensive tables by simplifying the presentation of data and emphasizing relevant information.

To set groupings, simply move the mouse over the column header of the element you want to group by and click on the drop-down menu that appears. Here you can set the grouping.

Grouping is not possible for numerical columns - e.g. effects.

Using hyperlinks and opening elements in the background

Texts that are colored blue - e.g. in the ‘Name’ column - offer the option of accessing the desired element directly via a jump link. Alternatively, you can also open the desired element in the background by right-clicking (or by holding cmd while clicking).
