The Falcon release from the beginning of September 2024 included the following features and updates:
New structuring of the sidebar
You will probably notice one change immediately: We have restructured the sidebar and there is even a completely new one with the portfolio section. But more on this in the next section.
The table with ‘My tasks’ is no longer in the dashboard area but has been given its own area in the sidebar.
In general, Falcon always remembers where you were and what was open when you switch between areas. This means that nothing gets lost, and everything stays neatly organized.
Portfolio View
A completely new area in Falcon! The idea: You get all the important information about your measures (and packages, projects and programmes) in a single table. Here you can see at a glance the progress over time, the planned and actual effects as well as the current status report of your measure. You can freely customise which information/columns you want to see and in which order, and Falcon remembers your settings.
This opens up a whole new world for PMOs! For example, start in the portfolio view and sort the measures by plan effect. Filter out completed measures. See directly whether an explanatory status report has been created for measures with a red traffic light. And to start a more in-depth analysis, simply click on the measure (Pro tip: Ctrl/Cmd+click to open the measure in the background).
Editing the columns
Customizing the portfolio view to your specific needs is half the rent. Falcon remembers your selection, of course. Simply move the mouse to a column header and click on the drop-down menu that appears. Here you can select which data you want to see in the Columns area. And you can easily change the order of the columns by dragging and dropping them. This way you are guaranteed to have the most important information directly in view.
Grouping Tables
A very promising function to make working in tables with many entries clearer. You can group by any column using the dropdown in the column header. For example, you can group the activities in the schedule according to open, started and completed activities. Or you can group the activities in the portfolio view according to the associated phases/HGs.
Filter by paused elements
Previously, it was difficult to filter out paused elements. We have now added this to the status column. For example, you can quickly filter out which measures are currently paused in the schedule or, conversely, exclude paused measures from your list. You can recognize the paused elements by the ‘-’ in the status column.
Other improvements and bug fixes:
Filter by empty values: We have added this negative filter in various places. For example, you can filter for empty phases, empty persons responsible or empty risks.
Sorting of individually sortable elements is no longer saved: This applies to the schedule of measures, for example. These have a natural sequence that can be changed using drag and drop. The temporary sorting by column (e.g. End (Plan)) is not saved in order to restore the natural order the next time it is opened.
Expandable texts such as those in status reports have been optimized. They can now be copied and are more visually appealing.
Improvement of the reload: Our internal reload spinner has been optimized and now only loads the current tab, reducing loading time. When switching tabs, the system always reloads.
The recycle bin, subscriptions and downloads are now loaded as modals and no longer as tabs.
There are new shortcuts: Ctrl/Cmd + s saves text information, for example in the profile or status. If you open an element while holding down Ctrl/Cmd, the element opens as a new tab in the background.
Minor errors when loading and displaying the dashboard have been fixed.
