What is the General Report for?

The General report can be created at all levels of the tree. This report provides a compact summary to report progress on a high level for all relevant tree elements. It returns a single page per tree item. It combines a couple of KPIs, traffic lights, and the latest status reports. Furthermore, it shows how effects are distributed among phases / DOIs.

What is reported at the different levels of the tree?

In the top right-hand corner of the reporting, there is a KPI area that refers to the level below the reporting level.

If you happen to report at the program level, for example, the report will show the total number of projects, and thereof open, running, done, and delayed projects. If you happen to report at the package level, the same logic is applied to measures and so on.

What information is provided in the Distribution Section?

On all levels above the measure level, the bottom right corner of the report features a distribution section. The section shows, how the total actual/forecast values of the respective effect line, are distributed among phases/DOIs. For example: If a package has five measures, each generating 20k $, the total will sum up to 100k $. If each measure is in a different phase - let's say DOI1 to DOI5 - the section will show 20/100 = 20% for each of the individual phases.

What happens if you have more than five phases and what is "Others"?

Unfortunately, space in the PowerPoint realm is a scarce resource. To make the most of it, Falcon allocates 6 spots in the Distribution section. It will always show the five phases with the highest rank and "Other". If you have a system with seven DOIs, Falcon will hence show Others, DOI3, DOI4, DOI5, DOI6, and DOI7. Effects allocated to phases not shown or to no phase at all are displayed under "Others".

What is the "Share" KPI in the report?

The share is available both for actual and planned effects. It shows how much the element you are reporting contributes to the level above. If you are on the measure level, the share hence shows, how much the individual measure contributes to the package the measure resides in (for the specified effect line).

What is the Most Frequent Phase?

On all levels above the measure level, the upper middle section of the report features the "Most Frequent Phase" KPI. It informs you about the most frequent phase/DOI of all measures within the element you are currently reporting. If several phases tie in frequency, Falcon will report the highest-ranked phase by default.
