If you want to extend a project, you can do this in the budgeting tab via the admin center. You can extend the project period by moving the start further forward or by moving the end of the project further into the future than originally planned. The effects already entered will be adopted and will not be lost. 

Attention! If you change the scaling settings or cut periods, all previous effect entries will be reset. A corresponding warning is displayed beforehand.
