Administrator Role in Falcon

The administrator role in Falcon is a central permission level for selected, typically technical users with specific administrative rights. It is intended for users who manage Falcon’s technical aspects related to user management and security – without being involved in operational activities.

Rights and Responsibilities of an Administrator

An administrator can perform the following tasks:

1. Manage Security Settings

Administrators have access to security-relevant settings within the platform – for example, authentication, access controls, SSO, or release processes.

2. Manage Users

Administrators can:

  • Create new users

  • Edit existing users

  • Retract access

  • Resend invitations to the platform.

3. Manage Provider Assignments

Administrators can assign or reset provider associations for Falcon users. This typically concerns external users or roles with specific responsibilities.

4. Grant Hub Access Rights

Only administrators can grant users access to different hubs.

5. Assign Additional Administrators

An administrator can grant administrator rights to other users – a privilege not available to regular “Owner” roles.

What an Administrator Cannot Do

Administrators do not have access to the project environment within Falcon itself. This distinguishes them from owners.
