What is Social Login?
With Social Login, you can sign in to Falcon using your existing Microsoft or Google credentials. This means:
✔ No additional password required for Falcon
✔ Quick and secure login
✔ No complicated registration process
What does "User Identity" mean?
Your user identity is your unique digital identifier in Falcon—your Microsoft or Google identity. This ensures that only you can access your account.
How to Sign In with Social Login (Even After an Invitation)
Open the Falcon login page.
Click on "Sign in with Microsoft" or "Sign in with Google".
Enter your Microsoft or Google credentials and confirm the login.
After successful authentication, you will be redirected to Falcon automatically.
➡ If you received an invitation, you can also accept it via Social Login—no traditional registration is necessary.
Linking Multiple Login Methods
If you want to sign in with multiple methods, you can link your Social Login to your Falcon account:
Sign in to Falcon.
Go to "Manage User Account" in the settings.
Select "Link Identities".
Click "Link with Microsoft" or "Link with Google" and follow the instructions.
Once linked, you can log in with both services.
Disabling Password Login
If you have linked your Falcon account to a user identity, you can disable password login.
✅ Benefit: Increased security, as the standard login method is removed, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
➡ How to manually disable password login:
Sign in to Falcon.
Go to "Security" in the settings.
Enable the option "Disable password login".
📌 Note: If your password is disabled, you cannot reset it. If you attempt to do so, you will receive an email with further instructions instead.
Creating a New Falcon Account with Social Login
If you don’t have a Falcon account yet and Falcon cannot link your Social Login to an existing account, a new account will automatically be created using your Social Login email address.
📌 Note: This account will not have a password, meaning password login is disabled. However, since some actions require a password, you may need to manually set one.
➡ How to set a password later:
Sign in to Falcon.
Go to "Manage User Account" in the settings.
Open the "Password" tab.
Select "Reset Password".
Follow the instructions in the email you receive.
Optional: If you later want to log in with a password, you can disable the "Disable password login" option.
📌 Important: If you unlink your last Social Login from Falcon, password login will be reactivated. While no password exists initially, you can create one via the "Reset Password" function.
Using a Microsoft Alias
Microsoft allows you to use multiple aliases (email addresses). Falcon checks whether any of these aliases already have a Falcon account and links them accordingly. For Google accounts, only the primary email address can be used.
Completing an Invitation with Social Login
New users can complete their invitation using their Social Login account. After receiving the invitation:
Click the provided button (or link) to complete the invitation.
Select "Register with Microsoft" or "Register with Google" and follow the provider’s instructions.
Once successfully linked, you can sign in with the corresponding service in the future.
📌 Note: Just like manually linking your Falcon account to Microsoft or Google, the email addresses do not have to match. You can link different email addresses.
Resetting Your Password with Password Login Disabled
If password login is disabled, you cannot reset your password from outside Falcon. Attempting to do so via the "Forgot Password" function will only result in an email explaining the situation and next steps.
To set a new password despite disabled password login:
Sign in to Falcon using Social Login.
Go to "Password" in your User Account Settings.
Use the "Reset Password" function.
Follow the instructions in the password reset email you receive.
📌 Important: The new password will only work after you enable password login in your settings. Resetting the password alone is not enough.
When Is a Password Still Needed?
Even if password login is disabled, a password is still required for:
✔ Creating and managing new tokens
✔ Changing your email address
✔ Completing an activation
✔ Changing your password
➡ Conclusion: Social Login simplifies the login process, but a password remains essential for certain key functions.
