As you may have noticed, the aggregation of effects in Falcon can be very individual. Here you will learn which settings and display options are possible.

The settings are made in the configuration field of the effects. The aggregation of the effects results from the following 3 factors: period, horizontal and vertical.

Period

The period indicates the period over which the effects are to be aggregated and presented in the "Total" column.

You have several options for this display:

Overall

The respective planned and actual/forecast values are included in the aggregation over the entire duration of the project.

Actual Year

The respective planned and actual/forecast values for the current year are included in the aggregation.

Year to date

The respective plan and actual/forecast values are included in the aggregation from the beginning of the current year to the current date (the current period).

Date to year

The respective plan and actual/forecast values are included in the aggregation from today's date (the current period) to the end of the current year.

Start to date

The respective plan and actual/forecast values are included in the aggregation from the start of the project to the current date (the current period).

Date to end

The respective plan and actual/forecast values are included in the aggregation from today's date (the current period) until the end of the project.

Actucal period

The plan and actual/forecast values of the current period (for example, the current month or quarter) are included in the aggregation.

Previous period

The plan and actual/forecast values of the previous period (for example, of the previous month or quarter) are included in the aggregation.

Horizontal Aggregation

Horizontal aggregation specifies how the individual periods are to be summarized over time (for example, from week to week, month to month, or year to year). The following options are available:

Sum

The plan and actual/forecast values of the successive periods are totaled. This is useful, for example, to track savings over the course of the project as a total.

Average

An average value is calculated from the plan and actual/forecast values of the successive periods. This is useful, for example, if a scrap rate is to be improved and you want to know at the end by how much % you could reduce the scrap.

Last period

Only the plan and actual/forecast values of the last completed period are displayed.

Vertical Aggregation

The vertical aggregation indicates how the individual periods are to be combined over various measures (e.g. effect line "savings" from measure "A" and from measure "B"). The following options are available:

Sum

The respective planned and actual/forecast values are totaled across measures. This is useful, for example, if process costs are saved in the "Machinery" and "Fleet" measures, and the total saved is to be aggregated as the total sum.

Average

An average value is calculated from the plan and actual/forecast values for each measure. This is useful, for example, if a KPI is to be improved in several measures and at the end you want to know how the KPI was improved on average.
